Butler library

Couldn't be entirely certain of this, but we suspect the location is the Butler library. We've seen this action pointed out by Cao when she was on the receiving end of the harrassment and threats from Cafasso at her blog. Now he's moved on to another victim, apparently, and he's fervently checking this blog to see if we're going to make mention of it. Why should we? He's imploding. He's having a virtual meltdown and we should sell hot dogs and buns to warm in the afterglow!

It could, of course, be the little girl from the UK who's visiting, but I sincerely doubt it. This is one crafty lying fraudster who've been getting away with this for so long, he thinks he's invincible. And he also thinks, apparently, that he's some kind of "romeo". That's a laugh when you look at him now, isn't it?

But you're a master of manipulation, you go off subject for a purpose; although we can't really see what our purpose is here. Blaming everything on the United States, I suppose. Gerry Blackwood, the expert on nuclear physics...with a phd, I take it. At least my quick perusal of this logger doesn't reveal some of the previous grammatical errors, although it does continue with the anti-war anti-American international theme which contends that America doesn't have the right to defend itself and he tows the leftist line that America's preemptive action is wrong; America has no right to defend herself.

Stop Joe Cafasso

Another one for the history books...Cafasso published as Blackwood in the New York Sun. Here he tries to convince us that he's against elite universities and their campaign against the ROTC on campus. This is after his speech at Columbia University when he stalked off in a huff. Why would he support the ROTC at all when he's against all forms of aggression? He makes reference as 10-31 points out, at the end of this rant, to "those who are fighting in two combat theaters today defending your principles". This is rather hypocritical if you understand the magnitude and viciousness of his destructive campaigns against those who have actually fought. Few people know the breadth and depth of his terrorism; it is indeed astonishing. People have indicated their amazement at his brazenness; but when you continue to get away with certain behavior, it's 'behavior rewarded is behavior repeated'. And we should be nipping this right here and now.

terrorists have access to the lab? What about Cafasso at Columbia University in the middle of the night?

Terror suspect had lab access, documents say

http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/localnews/2001810152_idahoterror08m.html

By The Associated Press

COEUR D'ALENE — A University of Idaho graduate student
who is under investigation for suspected terrorism ties
got unauthorized access to a campus lab containing
radioactive material, court documents allege.

Sami Omar Al-Hussayen, a Saudi national working on his
computer-science doctoral degree, quietly moved his
student office into the school's engineering isotope
lab, apparently without his adviser's knowledge,
according to documents cited yesterday in The (Spokane)
Spokesman-Review.

"The investigation of Sami Al-Hussayen has, from its
outset, been focused on suspected material support to
terrorism," FBI agent Michael Gnecknow said in the
documents.

FBI agents say they were worried the nuclear waste
could be used in a "dirty bomb." Such devices involve
the use of conventional explosives to spread
radioactive waste.

Al-Hussayen is scheduled to stand trial Jan. 20 on
charges of student-visa fraud.

Although he has been charged only with visa fraud,
authorities claim Al-Hussayen raised money that was
funneled to Islamic charities including the Islamic
Assembly of North America, which is under investigation
for suspected terrorist ties. Al-Hussayen has denied
the allegations.

Defense attorneys were unavailable for immediate
comment.

We surmise Cafasso doesn't consider himself a terrorist, good god, no. Good old Sybil Joe is roaming the halls of an Ivy League University's computer lab and other places in the middle of the night, security must know he's in the building. The mounting pile of proof if what he's been doing doesn't seem to bother him, because he's the only person in the world that matters. This crapbag has been laying cable all about the internet and it's a cringeworthy load of old bollocks! All under several different names, the verbiage and quotes are virtually interchangeable upon closer inspection.

Secret shipment-Radsafe Group again-'got to love the press'

I just love when he says -just got to love the press. Yes you do, obviously, Joe! And you want to be one of them! And you want to be a whistleblower! And you want to be so many things that you're not--but you're a member twice on the Committee of Concerned Journalists!

and some guidance sets which I doubt went to oakridge..... Got to love the press....Gerry.

Secret shipment at Y-12
Libyan nuclear material airlifted to Oak Ridge as gesture by
Gadhafi

By FRANK MUNGER AND RICHARD POWELSON, munger@knews.com
_powelsonr@shns.com
January 28, 2004

http://www.knoxnews.com/kns/local_news/article/0,1406,KNS_347_2609863,00.html

Tons of nuclear material and sensitive equipment were airlifted out of Libya Monday night and brought to a government facility in
Oak Ridge, officials confirmed Tuesday - hours after the secret shipment had reached its destination.

White House spokesman Scott McClellan said in a press briefing that a transport plane arrived at 8:37 a.m. Tuesday at McGhee
Tyson Airport in Knoxville. The nuclear cargo then was trucked to the Y-12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge, where it will be housed at least for the short term.

The big shipment, estimated at 55,000 pounds, is part of a rapid U.S. response to Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi's December promise
to abandon his weapons-development program.

"This reflects real progress," McClellan said of the nuclear shipment.

"On the flight was UF6 - uranium hexafluoride - which is used for feedstock to enrich uranium," he said. "Also included on the
flight were centrifuge parts, which are used to enrich uranium (for weapons use). Finally, the shipment contains ballistic
missile guidance sets for longer-range missiles, which Libya has voluntarily agreed to eliminate."

McClellan said the cargo was sent to a "secure facility" in Tennessee. That facility is Y-12, a warhead-manufacturing
facility that also houses the nation's primary stockpile of weapons-grade uranium.

The mission plans were first reported over the weekend by Reuters news service, which quoted senior U.S. officials about the effort
to whisk nuclear components out of Tripoli.

Oak Ridge officials repeatedly refused to comment over the past couple of days, citing classification restrictions.

"I try as best I can to never get into 'no comment' situations, but this is one that's classified and I've got to punt it to
Washington," Billy Stair, a spokesman at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, said. Initial reports had indicated the material was
headed to ORNL, not Y-12.

The Libyan mission is reminiscent of Project Sapphire in 1994. In that super-secret effort, 600 kilograms of weapons-usable uranium
was airlifted from Kazakhstan - a former Soviet state - to reduce the risk of it falling into the hands of terrorists or the
nuclear black-market. The material was sent to Y-12 for storage and evaluation before being sent to a Virginia nuclear facility
for processing to reduce its weapons capability.

The fact that Y-12 was chosen as host for Libya's nuclear
materials is ironic because the Oak Ridge plant has been under
fire in recent weeks for alleged security problems.

A watchdog group, the Project On Government Oversight, suggested
Y-12 was vulnerable to terrorist attack. The group, citing
government sources, said the plant's guards failed to protect
nuclear assets during a security exercise in December. Also,
DOE's Inspector General this week released a report that said a
Y-12 security exercise last summer was "tainted" because some
guards had received advance information on the tests.

Wackenhut, the government's security contractor in Oak Ridge,
countered those reports and said the protective capabilities at
Y-12 had never been better.

The Associated Press quoted Bush administration officials as
saying Gadhafi could expect some easing of economic pressure if
the cooperation continues. However, those officials said Libya
had yet to prove it no longer supports terrorism, a key
requirement for improved relations.

Before the nuclear airlift to Tennessee, another plane left
Tripoli last week with sensitive documents associated with the
Libyan nuclear weapons program, McClellan said. The White House
spokesman also said other efforts were underway to destroy
capabilities for chemical munitions.

"While these shipments are only the beginning of the elimination
of Libya's weapons, these shipments, as well as the close
cooperation on the ground in Libya, reflect real progress in
Libya meeting its commitments," McClellan said. "Colonel Gadhafi
made a courageous decision to give up his weapons, and through
this transparent process, the world can see that Colonel Gadhafi
is keeping his commitment."

U.S. and British officials have been in Libya during the past
week, along with representatives from the International Atomic
Energy Agency. Both ORNL and Y-12 have experts routinely called
upon for missions related to nuclear non-proliferation, but it is
not yet clear if any Oak Ridge employees were in Libya to assist
with the mission preparations there.

Steven Wyatt, a spokesman in DOE's Oak Ridge office, declined to
comment, and officials associated with the nuclear programs in
Oak Ridge referred calls to Washington.

US Airlifts Nuclear Weapons Program Components Out of Libya
David Gollust

27 Jan 2004, 22:27 UTC

The United States has airlifted out of Libya components of the
nuclear weapons program that country agreed to give up last
month. The White House, which made the announcement, hailed Libya
for its cooperation and said its good faith in dismantling
weapons will be reciprocated.

10-31 has more.
...and even more! The latest of his incoherent vitriolic rants in that signature discursive, aimless way...straying aimlessly from one subject to another is noted in the first link above. You thought Stuporpatriots had nobody reading? Except Joe Cafasso himself? Just observe the desultory remarks he is now making! Is he really sleeping at the Senton Hotel, or is he sleeping at Columbia University? That should be the real question. Does security know that he's there when he's logged on? How far is Bellevue from the Lerner Education Center? Or the Butler Library?

association of retired aviation professionals

How Joe Cafasso wiggled his way in with these people is mystifying, but his having flown planes would be another claim you could add to the long list. There is, in fact, a website for this organization, but references to Cafasso are starting to disappear. We've caught a few of these references around the internet and are preserving them for posterity.

This is from "Catch 22" at the Association of Retired Aviation Professionals website. It shows yet another email address he was using where he cleverly placed the "Lt Col" in the email address so that people could be hushed into silence with the enormity of his accomplishments from that alone. Oooooohs and aaaahhhhs must be rising up from the crowd when Joe Cafasso steps up to the podium, lol...

Ltc.JAnthony@att.net

That's an old one, I don't imagine he has anymore, but it's still amusing to catch these things when they're discovered. Another organization taken in by the fraud and con artist Joseph Anthony Cafasso, Jr.!

The locations of the visitors coming to Carteret Con Artist to read are very telling, considering all of his affiliations. Whoever the group is; an affiliation with Joe Cafasso touting him as a reasonable source should be an embarrassment for acknowledging the legitimacy of someone who has managed to 'outfox' the media and military personnel while claiming he's trying to 'educate the public'.

You know what your problem is, Joe? Your little world is falling in a shambles at your feet. It's no wonder you put that blog up called "Tiffany-Twisted.blogspot.com". (See how we arrived at this conclusion here.) And I just have to laugh at the picture that's up over there - the 'bat boy'. It shows just how you're coming completely unravelled. Three hours in the middle of the night on Columbia's system. I wonder how you get away with it.

Cafasso as Blackwood using the Dante quote in the radsafe group

This twit takes the cake. Notice the Dante quote at the end. That's precisely the same quote he used at the Stuporpatriots post 10-31 and I deconstructed where he was attacking a number of people. Here he is on Katrina... and as you recall, he was there in Thibodaux Louisiana afterward Katrina posing as "Jay Cafasso".

"Dante once said that the hottest places in hell are reserved for those who in a period of moral crisis maintain their neutrality."

Joseph Anthony Cafasso, Jr. should take his own advice. In a moral crisis, he doesn't think there's a problem because he has no morals.

a special treat

Joe Cafasso himself. The audio is slightly 'off', I noticed.

the bloviator makes a fool of himself

At his own blog. This is just one example of it, but there are numerous examples over there. We deconstruct them for...LOLKICKS! Here is an illustration of what he briefly discussed in Outfoxed. Here is a clip of him from that movie, and thanks to all for the technical help on this. I forgot to mention that this is the result of a collaboration with 10-31, and of course Cao, who graciously gave us a telephone interview.

No problem Don! Its coming!

First, the sarcastic tone and calling Kender by another name is demonstrative of someone who is intent upon revealing someone's identity who hasn't chosen to reveal it. Another problem is his ignorance in the use of contractions. He uses "its" instead of "it's". He probably doesn't even understand the difference. These are skills that most people learn in gradeschool, but skills which Joe Cafasso missed out on. He must have been bullying some kid on the playground for his lunch money when they covered that in first grade. Another key problem he has is the spelling and use of similar-sounding words, such as there, their, they're. He doesn't use them in the correct places. And this man has been masquerading as a PHD in discussion groups and no one has noticed these little details.

We are very focused on you anyway and just this once we will play since you do raise a couple of questions worth answering. Why all of Wideawakes? And can it be construed as harassment?

Well now. To answer your first question. Wideawakes was not even on our radar screen until its psychotic founder JackLynn made it an issue. Dumb mistake. So of course we looked into the writings. Stupor Patriots is non-political and dedicated only to Jack Idema until his alter-ego jumped in. Of course we have our own opinions on politics and world events. Most of which we all believe is nothing more than spin minus a hell of a lot of facts at the expense of the US Constitution and the American Public.
Notice his condescension over Cao at Cao's blog. He refers to her as "JackLynn" and calls her stupid. Cafasso, by all appearances, in spite of his objections, is very political, as his forced retirement from Fox would attest, in addition to his jumping on with the moveon.org crowd. These are simply lies. Spin minus facts? Let's see the evidence instead of the hyperbole. These aren't facts, these are generalizations.

Wideawakes adds to the sheeple factor just as its liberal counter-parts do. If you must know we here are Constitutionalists. Solid conservatives but with real world experience in matters of the beltway. We do deal with the liberal points of view in our own ways and in a matter of speaking very directly.

This is an interesting observation, that conservatives - or maybe more succinctly, Christians, are considered "sheeple". Counter-part is one word. Constitutionalists? You certainly must mean Russia's constitution, but then, you've never been out of the country, have you? This must have something to do with your close association with that Russian interpretor you've been bragging about.

Wideawakes are a group of anonymous writers who share one common thread.... stupidity... and in many cases are worse than their liberal counter-parts. Lets call it ...christiantics....a mixture of religion and political antics that says, we are right and you are wrong no matter what the facts may be. At least you can sandbag the liberals with facts.

Despite their political affiliations, Christians are all stupid. Or is it Conservatives? Can you not be a Christian and be a liberal? This twisted logic is lost on me. I'm not certain exactly which he's discussing, since he's made another stupid generalization there - but - everyone is stupid but Joe Cafasso. This fits into the definition of a stalker, harrasser, and psychotic, all names which he's been called in the past, and all names that he calls other people to throw the focus off of himself. Not very clever, though, is it?
Most of Wideawakes have never been involved with Hill politics. Never attended meetings at Foggy Bottom or the Puzzle Palace. Never testified in front of a Congressional Committee and never been inside the beltway to see reality. But they project their own unfounded reality.

This is another signature, the names he makes up like "back in the 'stan'". Nobody calls Afghanistan 'the stan' who's ever been there. Now "Hill politics" we might have heard of, but "Foggy Bottom" or the "Puzzle Palace"? Trying to impress us with your prowess in areas of national intelligence, no doubt. Name dropping and using terms that insinuate you're a bigger man than the fraud you are.

"Foggy Bottom" is the neighborhood in DC where the State Dept is located. Years ago folks referred to the intel of State as Foggy Bottom; today people refer to State intel as "I & R" as in State's "Intelligence and Research". Most people just refer to State today as "State" OR "I & R" for the intel section. In some intel circles some may refer to "Foggy Bottom" as opposed to "Ft. Meade" which is NSA or "Langley" as in "CIA headquarters" in McLean Virginia.

Puzzle Palace is a book about the NSA that Bamford wrote in 1982.

We already know that you testified in front of a Congressional Committee as a the head of the insurance lobby and a special forces soldier, which, of course is a lie. Your 44 days in the army never qualified you as a special forces soldier, although it's part of what you lay claim to having done that you never did. So we surmise he's correct about these people - they are honest upstanding citizens who are offering their opinions on subjects that he doesn't feel they're qualified for because they're 'stupid' by virtue of them all being Christians. They should have no right to speak about any subject because they're 'dumb' in his "expert" omnipotent Joe Cafasso opinion.

Lets give you a couple of examples.....

Jack Idema.... Now lets see.... All of Wideawakes are Christians...Bible thumping Christians or so they say. Pro-life...of course that does not mean anti-death penalty, or champions for social justice or believers in war as a last resort, supporters of the first amendment for all equally.....Just anti-abortion.

That's right, they believe in giving murderers and rapists their just punishment. I've heard that Cafasso has a child, I wonder what gender. Any man who is a father, I would think, would want to see child molesters brought to justice. Some child molesters walk over the line when they're freed and become child molesting murderers. This doesn't seem to bother Cafasso, however. I'm not sure they're Bible thumpers, though, from what I can see there is not a lot of quoting bible verses over there, but that's just as a result of my perusing a few pages. Joe Cafasso claims he's not 'political', but he believes in the right to kill babies, and is against the death penalty, and is a champion for social justice and is against war. We've already seen all of this by his association with certain individuals, but to go so far as to say the Stuporpatriots is not a political blog and then make a venomous post in opposition to people who don't profess to hold his opinions on political issues, is simply absurd. But in the mind of a psychotic, the only person that matters in the world is the psychotic, so it shouldn't come as a surprise.

Personally, as you will take not from over 70 posts already having accumulated here, I'm not talking about much but Joe Cafasso and the fear he attempts at instilling in people with intimidation and other tactics. I don't express any sentiments one way or another about the war or anything else, as I leave that up to the 'experts', and I do not consider Cafasso to be one.

The rest they define.... So here we have Jack Idema who is anything but a Christian nor holds to any Christian beliefs and the last time that Jack went to Church was when he was Baptized....Now he gets hero type of support from this so-called Christian community even though the real facts say the reverse. Which is why JackLynn was convicted of 56 counts of wire fraud and why JackLynn is in jail right now. There is no grand conspiracy. Never was. While spinning his horsehocky is very Christian of you all. Its also very Christian of people to attack others they do not know just based one ones points of view without and common reference or basis in fact......Very Christian. Its also very Christian to re-write or should we say cut and paste distortions from Jacks site and verbally running off with the mouth... And we know YOU don't like it done to you! Right Lynn? Right Don? So why do it to others?

What does Jack Idema's religious persuasion have to do with this discussion? Perhaps he needs to justify his tirade. His hatred of Jack Idema and his setting up that blog to attack him and anyone who might be in support of him is curious. His denials that he is Joe Cafasso is equally as incredulous. Jack Idema apparently hurt Cafasso in some way; Cafasso blames him for his job loss at Fox. Cafasso blames Idema for not being able to take credit for the tapes. $200 a week, is what he was earning with Fox, wasn't it? Or was it the damage that the NYT Rutenberg piece did to his reputation as a military analyst and counterterrorism expert? From what we can see, he has done quite a bit afterwards, being cited as a source in numerous articles, books and other pieces such as Shadow Company. So that expose didn't really do much in the end to harm his reputation; leftists love criminals; that's why they hold candlelight vigils for mass murderers sitting on death row. Naturally it's the 'humanist' position that Cafasso takes.

Lets take a look at War.... The Wideawakes group, a Christian group, are major supporters of this so-called war in Iraq. Why? Especially when their beliefs go against the Lausanne Covenant of 1974. Because they believe that George Bush is not just one of them but was Divinely placed into office? Don't get us wrong we also believe in taking out Saddam. However the problem we have is very simple. The order of battle in this war on terrorism was taken out of order. Meaning after Afghanistan, which we did not finish..Iran was the next logical target. Iran the "most active state sponsor of terrorism". You can go back to 1983 and you will find that 85% of the worlds terror attacks can be linked the Iranian MOIS and the QUDS Force. In 1998 MSIC (Missile Space and Intelligence Command) was screaming about the Iranian Shahab Ballistic Missile Systems. In 2001 MSIC was screaming about the pending deployment of the Shahab 3 and in July of 2003 Iran operationally deployed the system while this Administration did absolutely nothing. Matter of fact in 2001 Iranian Special Forces were in Herat, Afghanistan supporting a warlord by the name of Ismail Kahn going against Karazi and our own forces. Did we take them out? Nope.... Yeah lets blame it all on the intelligence community....This administration is not any better than the last one.

Not political, but talking about politics, and even in a backhanded sort of way, saying that Bush is as bad as Clinton was in terms of supporting the military. Did you get that, Joe? You can't keep your points straight, obviously.

Now Iran has the potential of going nuclear. Can we attack them now? Sure... Can we whoop'em? Sure... But the cost in American lives will be far greater now than before the Iraq war. Hell Baghdad is now called "Little Iran"... MOIS influence is strong in Afghanistan. Both this Administration and the Liberals say, Iran has nationalism! Hell since when did we ever care about the nationalism of an enemy? Bill Clinton bombed Yugoslavia. Did we care about its nationalism? We armed and supported the Muslims in Kosovo. Many of those are the same ones we are fighting today. But because this administration suffered for a bad case of cranial rectal inversion, American soldiers are caught in the middle of the pincer.....

What an intolerable twit. What Cafasso would really like is 'no war'. He doesn't see what nationalism really is. In Iraq, the intellect of a 35-year old man is that of a gradeschool child, here. And why is that? Because of Saddam's nationalism. It's the way the Arabs keep control over the population; by keeping them uneducated and ignorant, their existences meager and poor. You can talk all you want comparing what you know to what people know who've actually been there, Joe. Talking about things you know little about except when you get emails from journalists in other countries, but they aren't without an agenda now, are they? You should get yourself a passport...but then mommy's not buying your train tickets anymore, and to our knowledge, she never footed the bill for you to take a plane anywhere. Have you ever even ridden on an airplane, Joe? We know you've claimed to be a pilot. That kind of expertise would have to be included if you're going to represent yourself as the propagandist for the Association of Retired Aviation Professionals.
Are we any safer now than prior to 911? Not by much! While there are mid-level executives in both law enforcement and intelligence that could fix our problems with one hand tied behind their backs... But they are not political animals. Once again never place all of your loyality with any false prophets....especially the political type.... Like Reagan said, trust but verify!

As I said, not a political blog, but talking politics. You can't claim to be one and then go back on yourself, it's not consistent to those of us with rational minds. Not everyone displays the overwhelming tendency to lie. Ahh, but these points are lost on poor sick Joe Cafasso.

So that leads us the one of the main focuses on Wideawakes. Their lack of reality.... There is an old saying, "Never create your own limitations by taking the opinions of others and allowing those opinions to become yours without a common reference or basis in fact". Meaning do some real world research. Not the research as done by JackLynn.... real research...Not the duckspeak that Wideawakes adds to the dumbing of Americans. They are no better than their liberal counter-parts. Hence our decision to out....

Still you haven't pointed out their lack of reality, you've pointed out yours simply by what it is you're writing. Taking the opinions of others and allowing those opinions to become yours without a common reference or basis in fact? What an interesting phrase. You are assuming, then, that everyone in your path that doesn't agree with you doesn't have the right to state their opinion, and that they're stupid as a result. Furthermore, that no research is good research unless it's fabricated by you and your associates. This is all very revealing.

Now does that constitute harassment? Nope... We have not been in contact with most of them with exception of those who have been stupid enough to reply to us, Like you Don... But harassment is, forcing your beliefs on someone else to a point where that person feels life threatened and receives threats, like Steven Pearcy. While we do not like Mr. Percy's politics he has a constitutional right to free speech without the threat of violence. The Nazi's did things like that! The Communists did things like that! The KKK did things like that! That Don is harassment! That Don is Domestic Terrorism! Posting a Treason Contest and threatening the life of a sitting US Senator is not just harassment but its also a criminal act and Don... We don't think much of Senator Kerry's politics either. But death threats? That's not even funny. Very Christian!

According to the law it does. We asked Cao about the things that Joe is discussing in this last paragraph. It turns out to be rather hyperbolic. Stephen Pearcy is a man who is trying to make himself into a celebrity. He lives in Berkley and has a house in Sacramento that he rents out, and has put horrible displays showing soldiers in effigy, and when outrage rises out of the community, he's looking for people to sue. According to his neighbor, Stephen Pearcy is wild about pursueing media coverage. huh. Just like Joe Cafasso! Pearcy will do things like stand on a street corner with a sign and yell at passing cars. We in Britain have people like that, also, they're called village idiots. He baits conservatives into doing something, and then sues them. He won, in fact, a $5,000 settlement because some military or former military person ripped down one of his displays. He's also responsible for an Anti-American art display that was put up at a public courthouse, paid by American tax dollars. He has also been known to say of US soldiers "I hope they all die". He was the first one to release Cao's personal information, (including a picture of her that was someone else) but Joe did Pearcy one better. Joe published an autotrack that not only held her personal information, but that of her relatives, inlaws, former inlaws, and neighbors at the past few residents she's lived at, with their phone numbers and partial social security numbers. Not content with that because blogger took the post down, incensed that he didn't get away with it and she was fighting back, he then took it one step further and began calling and sending letters to her employer, claiming she's blogging on company assets and company time. What's interesting to note is he's so out of touch with the working class person. It's easy to document what you've done on the days you've taken for personal time, which every employee is afforded. Cao is more than resourceful; she managed to get that post with her personal information on it taken down by filing a complaint with blogger, but it had already been up for a full 10 days. But this is the kind of people Cafasso and Pearcy are. If Pearcy is undergoing problems, it's because of what he's doing to people. Here's another example of it at Digger's Realm:

Read a first hand account of a phone call one blogger received from Stephen Pearcy over at Mark Butterworth's blog Sunny Days In Heaven. Here's an excerpt, go read the rest.

I have just received a phone call today at about 12:15 pm from Mr. Stephen Pearcy regarding this blog which I wrote March 9, 2005 about Mr. and Mrs. Pearcy who hung a soldier in effigy (twice) from the eaves of their home in Land Park in Sacramento. I also noted with links vulgar statements posted on Mr. Pearcy’s car.

In the call I received from Mr. Pearcy, he informed me that I am guilty of a "tortious interference with a business relationship" because I suggested that people who didn't like her private actions could email her employer.

He admitted in our conversation (which I'll admit to being more animated in response than he in his assertions where he played the typical passive/aggressor) that his wife had suffered no harm from my blog or that of anybody else's (yes, he disclosed that he is contacting a number of other bloggers in the same way as he was doing with me) in her business relationship and had in fact seen an increases in business since they went public with their sick actions (the Michael Moore effect I guess you should call it).

I asked him if he was contemplating a potential cause of action against me. Yes, if warranted, he responded in approximate terms.

Mark Butterworth also informs me that Eugene Volokh has personally given him some advice and help via email and that he has contacted Stephen Pearcy in regards to his threats of a lawsuit.

One day, just like Cafasso, Pearcy is going to cross the wrong individual. Pearcy, like Cafasso, is more than slightly off-center. He even made it into the museum of leftwing lunacy.

But even more importantly not one of the Wideawakes bloggers spoke out against any of this type of behavior. NOT ONE. Not one spoke out against the verbal attacks sponsored by JackLynn.... Most either supported or remained neutral rather than face peer presure.....Not one spoke against the behavior which we find very bothersome....like the threats....the verbal attacks....So Hence the outing.....

So Don if you or any of the Wideawakes blogger feel offended....all we have to say is.....
"They sow the wind and reap the whirlwind".... And we are the whirlwind that you all helped create.......

BTW Don.... here is a PS for you... "The hottest places in hell are reserved for those in the course of a moral crisis remain neutral".... Dante

Five Days, 12 Hours, 36 Minutes to the OUTING!

DISCOURAGED FORWARD!

The hottest places in hell are reserved for those who, in times of great moral crisis, maintain their neutrality - Dante

The appropriate spelling of that word is 'pressure', not that you would be familiar with a dictionary.

Actually, the real quote is

The hottest places in hell are reserved for those who, in times of great moral crisis, maintain their neutrality - Dante

I haven't seen verbal attacks out of Lynn over at Cao's blog. What I have seen is thought provoking posts from a point of view rarely heard from, except on the blogs, which I find to be refreshing. That's how I was pulled into all of this to begin with.

But what would he know about it, he already lives in hell-the Senton Hotel. He also uses that 'definition of insanity' quote at other times which speaks to 'doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results'. This is what Cafasso does, so I think it's great how he pulls these quotes out and tries to act like he's educated with a degree like..a PHD in Nuclear Physics- when - he barely graduated High School, if he even managed that. We already know that he failed first grade grammar and spelling, if his writing is an indicator.

Joe Cafasso and government sponsored terrorism

Some of the flight 800 articles prevalent on the internet just a few days ago seem to have been altered and do not recognize Joe Cafasso as the propagandist with the Association of Retired Aviation Professionals. We have to go back into this further, but Accuracy in the Media had picked up the flight 800 story that Joe was so intent on proliferating on the internet and beyond with his association with Donaldson until Donaldson discovered he was a fraud.
Mr. Cafasso's collaboration with Mr. Donaldson on TWA the crash ended abruptly when Mr. Donaldson asked to see his partner's service records and Mr. Cafasso told him they were sealed, Mr. Hill said. When the records were not provided, Mr. Hill said, Mr. Donaldson, who died last August, ended the collaboration.

Joe Cafasso is a big bully

So as you can see by that letter to Jack Idema, Joe Cafasso is motivated by hurting others; people who he imagines in his twisted mind, who have offended or foiled the omnipotent Joe Cafasso from taking credit for others' work, gaining access to tapes, or documents, or any number of other things.

Wikipedia's definition of bullying says that bullying involves the torment of others through verbal harassment, physical assault, or other more subtle methods of coercion such as manipulation.

And that letter is just one example of the many instances of this behavior, and he doesn't seem to realize that it's not acceptable. He even had the nerve to say he wasn't above 'exortion' 'blackmail' and 'coercion', it appears as though he fits this categorization quite well. This observation was made in this post by The Way I Like It.
"If aggressive behaviour is not challenged in childhood, there is a danger that it may become habitual. Indeed, there is research evidence, to indicate that bullying during childhood puts children at risk of criminal behaviour and domestic violence in adulthood."[8]
That is striking. This is someone who graduated from childhood to adulthood thinking that exerting physical and psychological power over someone else through intimidation and other underhanded tactics is acceptable. He has no concept of social norms. Some people have been unlucky enough to run across the workplace bully, and Cafasso fits part of that bill. From the workdoctor: how to deal with the office bully there is a synopsis of the workplace bully, which I will distill down to how it relates in Joe Cafasso's case.

At the School of Bully Studies, found at workdoctor.com, they point out that a Canadian psychologist and founder of stressfree.com, Dr. Toby Rutner, says bullying behavior has strong links to childhood. So I'd like to know what in childhood triggered this behavior. Could his hatred and abuse of women have something to do with the four sisters he grew up with?

Joe Cafasso targets the third group of people that The School of Bully Studies suggests are prime targets for abuse by people like Cafasso. Those three groups are the visibly vulnerable, cooperative chumps and the bold, best and brightest. The bold and best division, are creative hard-working individuals who are merely oblivious to what Cafasso is trying to accomplish. This is the group he tends to gravitate toward, and it seems as though, from the bullying point of view, it has been a resounding success.
The bully uses a variety of manipulation tactics to squeeze his target into submission.
Dr. Rutner is a Canadian psychologist and the founder of stressfree.com. He describes the attack mode of a Joe Cafasso like this:
Rutner says battle plans can include making an associate look bad, taking credit for another's work, pulling the rug out from under a co-workers feet, intimidation, backstabbing and sabotage. "These competitive anti-social behaviors are blatant and unsophisticated forms of manipulation in which an individual attempts to advance himself at someone else's expense," he explains.
Dr. Gary Namie, a social organizational psychologist and co-founder of workdoctor.com. He says if you stand up to a bully, he'll back down. He says you have to learn new skills to deal with a bully like Cafasso. "Like it or not," says Dr. Rutner, "you have been drawn into a serious competitive game."
Rutner says rather than feel offended or abused, feel challenged; view yourself as an opponent, not a victim. Next, he suggests trying to identify the bully's objective and determine what methods he uses to obtain his goals. Also, "Attempt to recruit allies who are having similar experiences and coordinate strategies for dealing with the bully," recommends Rutner.

Anticipation can be key in disarming your opponent and regaining control. Rutner says you can undermine the bully's efforts by refusing to cooperate with his attempts to make you responsible for his behavior. "Remember, the game will continue until the bully stops winning," he stresses, "You don't get to choose whether or not you want to play; you can only choose how well you play."
Let the games begin.

A Personal Letter to Jack Idema….
DISCOURAGED FORWARD! Junior Cape Crusaders Worldwide and our trusty side-kick Psychotic and Homicidal Lynn Thomas of COWS BLOC!

Well Junior Cape Crusaders looks like our hero boy and his trash mouth girl friend are at it again. So we asked someone dear to Jackbo to write him a personal letter….

A Personal Letter to Jack Idema….

Hi Jack! Enjoying prison? You are getting everything you deserve plus some. Let it be known that it was never Ed Artis nor Bob Morris who had you hunted down and arrested but just little old me. And if there is anything else I can do to make sure you serve out your prison term I will. We both come from the same cut Jack, except what I was doing was not for fame and glory unlike you.

As far as I am concerned you need an extension ladder to crawl out of the gutter. I know for a fact you are as about as phoney as they come. You see Jack I have perosnal letters from the so-called Generals you worked with basically saying you were full of it and were never an advisor to the Northern Front. The evidence against you is just overwhelming. Please send a Carabolla TV crew to me so I can have all of this documented. Talk about Edward Carabolla and Ted Kavanagh… You just love to use people Jack especially those in there 70’s and 80’s. Just like you used Robin Moore. How do you sleep nights?

Yes Jack I know it was Ted Kavanagh who hired John Tiffany. I know it was Ted Kavanagh who got Peter Bergen to lower his standards and write about you. Please have Peter Bergen contact me I would just love to sit down with him and show him what I got! You have to wonder why CNN, CBS, MSNBC and the rest of the Networks will have nothing to do with you? They know the truth! How many reporters can you threaten Jack? How many people can you defame?

Those of us who know the truth on how you scammed the US Embassy in Tashkent know the real Jack Idema. You have caused many people harm in the past and now your getting yours in return. So what do you and Ms. Thomas do since you can’t show any evidence? Defame others. Nice try Jack! But you are too well known for this tactic. Please come home soon I am waiting for the day you return so I can drag you into court and prove once and for all just how much your full of it.

As far as Ms. Thomas here is concerned it was also me who wrote to and called Allstate Insurance having you banned from using Allstate Computers to defame others. Yes Ms. Thomas I was at Tribeca to see the opening of “Beyond the Call”. A story about real American Hero’s.. Not like you Jack… Not like the dream and lie you live but three guys who shoes you could never fill.

Ms. Thomas. To bad the guy with the eye patch was not me. But I was proudly standing next to him for a while. Believe me it was my honor.. Again Ms. Thomas you speak without knowledge just because you enjoy propelling a lie as in Jack Idema.

So Jack why not just do what everyone has asked? Get a certified letter from the Army Inspector Generals Office shutting me up? Never going to happen Jack…. and I will never shut about about you. That’s because your full of it Jack. And everyone from Robin Moore to the SFA knows it. This is also the reason why you can’t prove anything in Court because if you could you would not be where you are right now. And you would have had standing in the Fox News Lawsuit. A law suit you have repeatedly lost. BTW Jack how much money do you owe some of the other parties? I laugh at you calling everyone else frauds while you are in prison now twice buying the services you now use.

Remember one thing Jack it was me who had that Detain On Sight Order come out and it was me who helped put you away. This was for the many you have hurt in the past.

So Jack while you once again seem to be enjoying the privileges of a Sat Phone to throw the BS around of which you and Mr. Tiffany just love to propel enjoy it while it lasts.

Enjoy Prison that is where you belong and where you will end up back in the States.

See you in Hell Jack!
Joe Cafasso

It's good to know you're so desperate for the attention for accomplishing all that, Joe. I wonder how all of your famous friends, your associates in the Associated Retired Aviation Professionals, the boat professionals at Bannisters Wharf, Newport, the people you've collaborated with on different recent projects and who used you as an anonymous source, etc.,- feel about it when they read your admissions and proof of your bullying people online like that. Let's see....how many people are you 'after' in this one little letter? And how far does it extend beyond this?

columbia university visiting in the a.m.

Imposters; Joe Cafasso fits that bill!

Imposters

That article describes several; Milli Vanilli, Frank Abagnale, and many others and bam! You've got Joe Cafasso.
Fox News consultant Joseph A. Cafasso leveraged 44 days in bootcamp into a Special Forces Lieutenant Colonel’s résumé. There’s a lot of this going around.

In the dictionary, next to 'military poser', 'fraud', 'liar, 'fake' should be Cafasso's picture.

open source intelligence group on yahoo Blackwood at the justice.com email address

You can see the particular post I'm referring to here. You can see the messages he's posted there here. Don't worry Gerry. I mean JOE. We're documenting these things as we pull them.

"Boston globe names the Saudi with the gunpowder in the crayons-Globe says they were fireworks"

The question really should be. How often does the media get ot right? Most of the times I get more news watching the Cartoon Channel or reading the funny papers..... It's really a shame. You would think that reporters would really do there homework.

Gerry
It just keeps getting more ridiculous the more I poke around. Somebody should put up a "Joe Cafasso's greatest hits" post. 10-31, are you up to the challenge?

sign on San Francisco mentions Joe Cafasso

here.

A private matter
The Fox News Channel employed a consultant for four months during the war on terrorism who claimed an extensive military background yet reportedly spent only 44 days in boot camp in 1976. The discrepancies between Joseph Cafasso's claims and his background came to light after he stopped working at Fox on March 11, The New York Times reported Monday. Fox News would not comment on the story, but confirmed the accuracy of the Times' account.

Cafasso had allegedly claimed to be a retired lieutenant colonel in the Special Forces, saying he had served in Vietnam, won a Silver Star for bravery and was part of an unsuccessful secret mission to rescue hostages in Iran in 1980. Yet military records showed he was discharged as a private after spending 44 days at boot camp in Fort Dix, N.J.

Fox decided to end its relationship with Cafasso in March after he began alienating staff members, the newspaper reported. Cafasso also reportedly worked for the Patrick Buchanan presidential campaign and, briefly, as a consultant at WABC radio in New York, where he was dismissed for misrepresenting himself.

This is no 'prvate matter', the story of this man and his charade has been splashed all over the news, and written about in articles regarding pretenders, posers, resume padders, plagiarists, etc. The ligger claimed he was a Vietnam vet while the numbers don't add up between his age and the timing of the conflict! He's too young to have ever served in Vietnam, but he thinks people are too stupid to be able to figure that out! Or maybe he just thinks they don't even care. He's betting on the fact that he's dealing with people like the students and professors at Columbia University who he can easily snow with his fantasy tales of military heroism, because at Columbia University, he's "Lt. Col. Blackwood, US Army retired'. Most of those people have never even been exposed to military types, so he has the advantage and is more likely that they'll accept it without question. When he's standing in front of you, he's 'impressive'! When he's leaving his phone message diatribes, he's 'authoritative'! "Distinguished'! When he's coddling up to important people, he's 'spellbinding'!

What a loser.

This just in from our team at Bannister's Wharf

We should frame this story by saying that Cafasso has claimed in the past that he owns all kinds of real estate, and has even professed to having owned a clipper ship that was being refurbished at Bannister's Wharf. This heightened our curiosity because of several factors; 1) he's a known liar 2) he's a known liar who has scammed some of the best journalists out there and 3) he's a known liar who has also been known to beat up and threaten people. This last piece of intelligence is fairly well-known within the circles of people, like us, who have had unfortunate run-in's with the man. This is a fellow who simply can't keep his out-of-control temper in check. And his delusions of grandeur have gotten the best of him, so in the most pressing circumstances, his obsessive compulsive personality disorder emerges in full force. If someone stops believing him, he resorts to threats and violence. Or he takes the coward's way out like he did with Fox, saying that he's going to come back and set the record straight while sweating bullets to get away from the people that found him out.

Then he relaxes and comes up with another scheme.

Believe it or not, in addition to his considerable bs on the military, he's got another 'claim to fame' which is affection for clipper ships and the history involved in them.

We have to consider the air, the ambiance, of the beautiful Newport area before we go on. The sprawling mansions, the incredible yachts and sailing boats, and.... Bannister's Wharf. It is at Bannister's Wharf where Joe Cafasso's clipper ship was being outfitted and modernized and undergoing an overhaul, according to Joe. This is a story he loved to tell, and which many people were witnesses to. You just have to give credit where credit is due. Giovanna raised a boy who turned into a man that never outgrew a child's active imagination.

Dream on, Joe...you never owned the sprawling home in Newport overlooking the Atlantic - although I'm sure that tale raised some eyebrows and impressed people. You never even owned the place in Normandy, France, you said you had, either. And you never had a 1940's clipper - named NUKEATER at Bannister's Wharf, either.

You might have had ties to a "law firm" in Warwick, but that might have been because of Uncle Angelo, the man who pled guilty to conspiracy to commit extortion in addition to actual extortion charges.

As to your claim of going to Brown University, that was your father, not you. For some reason I feel as though I'm in the movie "psycho" with Cafasso playing the Anthony Perkins psycho.

So...your beautiful 1940's clipper boat? You know. The one that was moored at Bannisters? Every time I step into one of these fraudulent claims, I'm always surprised, and I keep saying that it has surpassed the last tale. Truth be told; they're all extremely brazen and far-out, but when you take all of them together, this man has just about every con artist I've ever heard about beat tenfold. It was very easy for our team to stop to check this nutty story out. They interviewed the management at Bannisters and all the other adjacent docks and these men are real boat lovers who would have known if a 1940's clipper was there. Then you emailed around a picture of the boat! It was very easy to verify that this entire fantasy was as fake as the day is long.

Joe Cafasso is an amazingly cunning liar with venom and hate for the world. So twisted, he gives a bad name to pretzels and sailing knots!

Most of this valuable information came to us from 10-31.

Hell has come with it; slicing and dicing

In a post called "slicing and dicing the punks of the world", hell has come with it comes out with a scathing first entry. That one is going in the sidebar if the first few posts are any indication as to what is to come.

slicing and dicing the punks of the world

by hell has come with it

Joe Cafasso was working as a janitor during the Operation Eagle Claw rescue attempt. But it makes good stories at the local VFW bar in Carteret New Jersey. Equally of interest is interviewee Number 1- Kathryn Cramer, a science fiction ...

Hell Has Come With It - http://hellhascomewithit.blogspot.com

Andrew Maddox on Joe Cafasso

Here is the brief post.

This a bit ironic:

The Christian Fundamentalist movement is one that believes that we’re right, you’re wrong, no matter what. And I saw a lot of that at Fox [News Channel]…we’re right, you’re wrong, no matter what.

Joseph Cafasso, Former Fox News Military & Counterterrorism Editor

Isn’t he saying that he’s right and they’re wrong because they believe that they are right and everyone who disagrees with them is wrong? It doesn’t seem like a defensible point…

It's not, but he's in the movie, that's all that matters! He's a STAR!

Cafasso and The Laos Story

Here is a copyrighted screengrab showing Cafasso's being 56 years old, when he was born in 1956, which makes him actually 50. This is from the names database, and shows his siblings and their corresponding ages. It came from a search of the Carteret High School database, which only shows his sister having graduated in 1979. There is no record there of his having graduated High School, so we'll send some members of our team over there to discover the truth behind the claims, since it's difficult to ascertain what is fact and what is fiction in Cafasso's Walter Mitty stories.

What is interesting is Cafasso HAS to be 56 in order to be old enough to have served in Vietnam. Whitestar (Laos), which he claims he was a part of, was around 1971 and that would put him in SOG, Special Operations Group in Laos. Not very clever when he was born in 1956, and was a freshman in High School at the time.

Operation White Star was a Special Forces campaign in Laos during the pre-Vietnam era. And Cafasso is dumb enough to have claimed he was a part of that. Historically speaking, it's a good example of how SF engaged in UW (Unconventional warfare) tactics and successfully attacked an insurgency without attacking the regime in power.

But our boy is no way near old enough to have engaged in this, although it makes for great conversation that wow's his drunken audiences in bars. And the reason I say this is-the first rotation of Americans arrived in Laos in July 1959. White Star was originally called "Hotfoot," and was led by Lieutenant Colonel Arthur D. "Bull" Simons. It was only 107 SF soldiers, all from the 77th SF Group. Later, the number of SF soldiers gradually increased to a peak of 433 by July 1962.

Special Forces soldiers are elite groups of fighting men who are willing to take extraordinary risks. Out of 100 men who try, only 5 end up qualified and making it through the course. Imagine how sadly desperate a man must be to want so badly to be identified as one of these extraordinary people.

You can go back and look at heroes from that era like Dick Meadows, who enlisted in the Army in August of 1947 at the age of 16, but this is WAY off the charts of what is reasonable to assume that Cafasso did, even if his lie about being 56 years old were true.

Cafasso was born in 1956, when all of this was going on. He was an infant during this period of time.

Cafasso couldn't even possibly have participated in this, even though he has many emotional stories around Vietnam and Laos and even cries over his fallen friends; it's all simply make believe, a pitiful melodramatic display to invoke the listener's sympathy.

he ain't got nobody

Joe's parents are now both dead. Which leaves him with his siblings. This "Leslie" that he invents conversations with is probably his sister Celeste. We gather there is no love lost between Joe and his siblings, but this little nugget of information shouldn't really come as a surprise.

From the Brown Alumni Magazine issue from October 1995 there is a section of Obits letting people know about former alumni who passed away. It shows this little trinket about Joseph Anthony Cafasso. But it should be remembered this is our con artist Joe Cafasso's father, so Joseph Anthony Cafasso, Jr. was claiming his father's degree and credentials on his resume. Hell, the names are close enough, why would anyone check Brown's obituary section?

More recently, Giovanna Cafasso, Joe's mother passed away. This bit of news was published in the Providence, Rhode Island Journal on 8/15. She passed away on 8/13, which was a Sunday.

Here is St. Joseph's parish in Carteret, New Jersey having a Vigil for Giovanna Cafasso on October 31st. As Van Halen's song goes, and David Lee Roth used to sing- and is now probably Joe Cafassso's theme song, "I ain't got nobody"...

It must be embarassing for Joe Cafasso that his mother was such a devoted catholic, considering what he says about the 'christian rightwing', his hatred of people who get in his way, trying to get people killed, stalking women, and his utter disregard of social norms, conning women into believing he'd be someone worthy of getting engaged to- and then taking their money, etc.. It's no wonder his family is mortified.

And while I'm discussing his overinflated self image, vicious threats toward people who expose him, and his family, perhaps this little tidbit could give us a window into the complicated twists and turns in the workings of his mind. His Uncle Jerry Mosca, pled guilty to extortion and conspiracy to commit ** in 2000. To save his own hide, he agreed to cooperative in the investigation-because he was involved in a bigger scandal in Rhode Island that involved numerous people in local government, the pursuant investigation was called Operation Plunderdome. So it would seem that Joe Cafasso isn't an aberration in the Cafasso gene pool. Giovanna, his mother has a brother, known as Angelo "Jerry" Mosca. Notice Joe Cafasso uses some of these familial names in his altered multiple personalities and identities. Here is an excerpt from the 2000 REPORT TO CONGRESS ON THE ACTIVITIES AND OPERATIONS OF THE PUBLIC INTEGRITY SECTION ...
"Integrity" would seem to be a word that is foreign to our Joe Cafasso. But he wants us to think he's a world traveler, so I gather on his resume, he says he speaks multiple languages- Russian, German, Italian, Vietnamese... perhaps this Uncle of his is an indicator as to why he ended up this miserable excuse for a man. He's admitted that he's not above 'extortion' and other crimes, and these are some of the things his Uncle pled guilty to.

Many people have asked me what drives a man to do these things. What drove Jeffrey Dahmer to do what he did? God only knows the answers to some of these things, but one thing is certain; there should be alerts going out to law enforcement about this con man and what he's attempting to do to people.

The Clipper story is COMING!

Investigative Team hits Bannister's Wharf!

outfoxed at The American Prospect

here.

OUTFOXED. Fox News' anointed military expert Joseph A. Cafasso appears to be a fraud. He had claimed to be a retired lieutenant colonel in the Special Forces, but it looks like he never actually made it past 44 days of boot camp. Fox continues to defend his analysis and reporting. We're not sure of the date of that piece, it says May 5, but we can't find the year. In any event, I haven't seen Fox News defending their using him as an analyst once he was 'outted' as a liar and a fraud, it appeared as though they were embarrassed that his fraudulent claims were so vast. As a result of his behavior, a measly four months was all he worked at a mere pittance of about $200 a week. Now people complain that there is no evidence of his having worked at Fox on the Fox website. Instead, Robert Greenwald and George Soros' moveon.org, welcome him as an odd cause célèbre because he has a story to tell that is in line with their politics and the goal of discrediting FOX as 'not journalism'. At least he actually lived the FIRED FROM FOX BECAUSE HE'S A FRAUD story! As opposed to 'being on a barge in the North Sea' before swooping in to save Katrina victims in Louisiana, killing a 14-year-old during Vietnam, a war he never fought in, or saving his burning comrades off a burning C-130 during the Iran conflict, etc.,etc.

On Joe Cafasso fake Vietnam hero and others posers from the Voice of Vietnam Veterans of America

Joe Cafasso isn't even old enough to have served in Vietnam, yet he's too dumb for complicated math like that.

Here's an article written by Bernard Edelman entitled "A Legend In Their Own Minds: Posers, Fakes and Wannabes", the cites numerous examples of this fraudulent military hero phenomenon, including a reference to Joe Cafasso's claims that he is or was a military veteran from that era.

Vietnam veteran wannabes, imposters, fakes, frauds, pretenders, poseurs - call them what you will. You rarely heard about them when the stereotyped image of the Viet vet was the dysfunctional baby killer who just couldn't seem to get his act together back in The World. Today, they're a growing plague, and a pox on the community of veterans.

"They're a nationwide epidemic," said Mary Schantag, who with her husband, Chuck, devotes countless hours to the POW Network they operate out of their home in Skidmore, Missouri. Said Chuck: "We've documented over seven hundred phony prisoners of war from Vietnam - more than the total number of POWs who were repatriated in '73. Every time we expose an imposter, it seems like we get reports of two or three more. Their numbers just keep growing and growing."

"We see it everywhere," VVA President Tom Corey told the New York Times last year. Acknowledging VVA had discovered that several veterans had claimed to have been prisoners of war, he said, "A lot of times they say they're Navy SEALs or special forces or POWs, and a lot of them never left stateside."

Of course, fake warriors are not a new phenomenon. "Historically there have always been pretenders," points out Bob Greene, staff assistant to the director of the VA's New York Harbor Healthcare System and a member of VVA Chapter 126. "This is nothing new."

One of his VA colleagues, who has studied about the psychological implications of phony vets for years, cites the last reunion, in 1913, of troops from both the Union and the Confederacy who had fought at Gettysburg, one of the pivotal battles of the Civil War.

"So many showed up, thousands upon thousands of old men, that the organizers had to regroup," he recounted. By 1913, only a few hundred legitimate Gettysburg veterans were thought to still be alive. So many of their contemporaries, he feels, "just wanted to be there," to be, however vicariously, part of history.

Most recently, after the release of the movie Black Hawk Down, there was a rush of poseurs claiming to have been Rangers in Somalia, said Steve Jaeger, president of the U. S. Army Ranger Association.

It is precisely this inherently dishonest pose that angers many veterans like Jaeger. "Their lies break down all trust. All we have is our good name. If we've lied, what's left?"

The liars roil vets like Chuck Schantag. "I see some dirtbag pretending to have been a prisoner of war who's being comped with free room and meals at some hotel in Branson based on a lie and I boil," he said. "Because to know real ex-POWs, you know they are the most humble men you'd ever want to meet. By their lies, the fakes diminish the suffering of the real POWs: They have no conscience."

Too many veterans never get over their combat experiences, their wounds, their nightmares. Imposters, Mary Schantag added, "steal the stories of heroism, but they're not stealing the nightmares, or the pain."

Different Degrees Of Phoniness

Frauds and wannabes are of two types: Many are legitimate veterans, men and women who have rendered honorable service but feel the need to inflate their records with deeds of derring-do. They often elevate themselves into SEALs or Green Berets or Rangers or LRRPs, veterans of special ops, recipients of the nation's highest decorations, up to and including the Medal of Honor.

Others never served a day.

Legitimizing their claims, they falsify their DD-214s, which is about as difficult to do as going to Staples to buy the whiteout they'll need.

While the VA requires an original or a certified copy of a veteran's 214, most VSOs and employers that accept the DD-214 as proof of service are not so demanding. Even third-generation copies are accepted. How intently they are scrutinized for discrepancies is open for discussion. It is usually when a fraudulent veteran attempts to rise within the organization or run for office that his lies crumble.

The wannabes know no boundaries of race or class or ethnicity, of enlisted man-- and, in a few instances, woman - or officer. More than a few have led lives of prominence and success: The onetime publisher of the largest daily newspaper in Arizona, Darrow Tully. A congressman from Oregon, Wes Cooley. A sitting judge in Missouri, Michael O'Brien. The Pulitzer Prize-winning historian at Mt. Holyoke College, Joseph Ellis. The onetime manager of the Montreal Expos baseball club, Tim Johnson.

An article that ran on the first page of the business section of the venerable New York Times on April 29, 2002, related the fall from grace of one Joseph A. Cafasso. Described as a "gruff, barrel-chested military man" who "claimed to have won the Silver Star for bravery, served in Vietnam and was part of the secret, failed mission to rescue hostages in Iran in 1980," Cafasso befriended real military men and hoodwinked Fox. Claiming to have been a lieutenant colonel in Special Forces, Cafasso's total military experience amounted to 44 days in basic training at Fort Dix, New Jersey, in 1976.
If the math holds up and he didn't FLUNK...he must have graduated Carteret High School in 1974.

Here's a brief explanation of the psychology of the man, although I stop short at feeling sorry for someone as vindictive and nasty as Joe Cafasso...
Why do these people - wannabe-hunters call them "pukes" and "scum" and other less flattering names - live a lie?

"I still don't know," 84-year-old Mitchell Paige said recently in response to a reporter's query. Almost 60 years ago, Paige, then a platoon sergeant in the Marine Corps, received the Medal of Honor for his heroism during a battle in the Solomon Islands. He has been pursuing those who sell fake medals and those who wear them since the 1950s.

Others offer educated guesses. Poseurs have in common an almost visceral need to confabulate, to "be all that they can be," to paraphrase Army recruiting commercials of 20 years ago. For many, the lie they have lived has become their reality.

Ben Weisbroth, who spent two decades as a benefits counselor with the VA and is now deputy director of the New York State Division of Veterans' Affairs, offers this: "These guys are looking to impress people. They want to pretend they were part of something they weren't part of."

Steve Maguire, who served as a Ranger in Vietnam and is vice president of the U.S. Army Ranger Association, explains it this way:
"If you want to be an airborne Ranger, you have to meet a certain standard." The wannabes, they wake up in their 40s and time has passed them by. So they read adventure novels and spy stories, and a lot of them begin to fantasize and create fake personas.

"It wasn't that many of them eschewed going through the training back in the ‘60s, they just didn't. And now they wish they had really gone through it when they had the opportunity."
Bob Greene, a combat veteran who has been with the VA in Manhattan for more than 20 years, adds this caveat:
"Liars are lonely people. What you have in essence is a weak person who wants to project the image of a hero, then uses this false persona as a credential - a credential he has not earned."
Liars aren't all that bright, either. Because it doesn't take long before their history is revealed to those around them, and the only have themselves to blame. I think it was Mark Twain who said "If you tell the truth, you don't have to remember anything." Too bad for Cafasso he's been living a lie for so long he can't figure out what he told whom, and it is all unraveling.

Joe Cafasso aka Blackwood spouting off on Weapons of Mass Destruction

Cafasso's claims of bravery and heroism span the globe. He has claimed he fought in Vietnam, which is of extreme entertainment value since simple arithmetic tells us that's impossible; he's not old enough. Another standard theme for Cafasso's vivid imagination is this version; that he never actually made it to Vietnam, but instead, was fighting in Laos. A source from the UN UNIFEM contacted us and said that Cafasso posing as Blackwood this summer actually got up and spoke and embarassed a few people in the room becaues when he said he was working for Knightsbridge because he killed a 14-year-old when he was working a black op during Vietnam. The public admission of such a thing only equates to the tall tales of the fake veterans participating in the Winter Soldier Investigation. So we ask you: What kind of man stands up and publicly and states that he killed a child during a war that he never fought in???

More recently, Joe Cafasso still insisting he was Gerry P. Blackwood, told a Washington DC attorney he was fighting near where that attorney fought during the Vietnam War. That attorney believed him until the FBI called that attorney and straightened him out with the truth!
  • In 1999 - Cafasso along with Serbian Americans was Anti-War!
  • In 2001 - 2002, Cafasso claimed to know what was going on in Afghanistan more so than those on the ground. Even a noted Marine Colonel on air at FOX thought Cafasso was a baffoon before he was sacked.
  • In 2004 on OUTFOXED, Cafasso was blasting FOX News. FOX discovered the false military credentials and false tales of nonexistent experiences, and pushed him out the door so of course, he was going to hold a grudge. Cafasso breaths revenge! Crikey, he is not man enough to accept responsibility for lying, so he needs to find someone to blame.
But that does not stop him from spouting off about Weapons of Mass Destruction! Here he is in the Radsafe group bragging in his usual pompous self aggrandizing manner:

Hello list,

Yesterday I attended the Columbia University East Central European Center, Saltzman Institute of War and Peace Studies, and SIPA UN Studies Program Lecture: Containing Weapons of Mass Destruction: The UN and the Non-Proliferation Treaty Speaker: Laszlo Molmar, Ambassador of Hungary to the United Nations.

Thought I would share some points for those interested in the NPT (Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons Treaty). Ambassador Molnar is a nice guy and surprisingly spoke openly and candidly. These were just a few of the highlights of the talk.

Who is Ambassador Laszlo Molnar of the Hungary UN MIssion? He is the outgoing Chairman of what is know as PrepCom or the Preparatory Committee of the Parties to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT).

This Committee is meeting here in NYC on May 7th 2004. Prepcom tries to get a consensus on most of the issues prior to the main meeting of the NPT Signatories schedule for 2005, leaving the major items for discussion.

1. This years PrepCom is more complex than ever. This is due to the developments in Pakistan as in AQ Kahn, Iran and North Korea. BTW, NK has not officially pulled out of the NPT their seat has been turned over to the PrepCom Chairman as a holding action so that NK will not have to go through the readmittance criteria once the issues are resolved. However, there is a stand still on the issue of North Korea. Nothing has changed. The internal fighting over protocol continues while the parties agree to continue the holding action on NK seat. They do not want the horse out of the barn and lose total control over NK. Of course the Chinese have been limited in help as well. The most interesting item for this years PrepCom is that the conference report must be a consensus one unlike the previous one. Talk about civil wars........

2. The Non Aligned Nations are concerned with the lack of speed in the reductions of nuclear weapons by the P5 Nations. Their thinking is that if the P5 Nations would start showing leadership in this area this would send a strong signal to other non-aligned nations that may be interesting in pursuing nuclear weapons.

3. Iran and NK are interested in talks directly with the US but the US refuses to enter into one on one talks with them. Which the US Position is supported by the UN. The thinking is of course if one nation get's to talk one on one with the US everyone else will do the same. Of course the UN does not want to be totally left in the dust nor does the US want to become the UN. Remember of all the crap we throw at the UN as being ineffective, we use them as a buffer between us and the rest of the World.

4. The UN is looking for more teeth or a stronger enforcement clause to the NPT. Don't bet on it though.

5. The next NPT will have a Chapter Seven clause for the control of Special Nuclear Materials (SNM). However, this Chapter Seven is directed not as the normal Chapter Seven as in the case of Iraq or Kosovo, but its one that states the parties directly will take action within their own boarders. Of course if a party asks for help the Security Council will take up the issue. Then comes the big question, funding? I have to tell you this scares the hell out of me. I personally find it a act of stupidity if the UN and US Mission to the UN thinks this form of a Chapter Seven is even remotely workable. The black market is very large and covers many countries. The Ambassador agreed that SNM are a huge problem and one of the focuses of this next NPT.

6. TactNukes or tactical nuclear weapons. Lets say a, slight problem (sic). Reduction is not going as planned and with the US talking about low yield nukes as in bunker busters this next PrepCom will be a exciting one. The Ambassador pointed out that the US Spends Billions securing Russia's Nuclear Arsenal, of course this statement was corrected we spent only $740 Million on some of the arsenal helping the Russians better secure their weapons. This is not to be confused with the $4 Billion in total over the last decade. This $4 Billion is the total for the reduction and disarmament of Russia's Strategic Forces as well. Moreover, the Russian's told the UN they will not go into specifics with the US until the US removes its gravity nukes in Europe. The Russians have told the UN they only have nukes on their soil now and so should the Americans. Moreover, the Russian have told the UN and US that they will only be responsible for nuclear weapons on their soil. Meaning do not look at them for any nukes now located in their former republics or any other former Soviet nuke outside their boarders.

Proliferation of materials and technology is a rather large issue.

When asked about the russian inventory and statements made by russian defectors with regard to an accuurate count in the Russian arsenal the Ambassador said, that he believes that the Russians do not have a good idea of what is really in their arsenal. Just thought I would pass this one to you all so that you can sleep well tonight.

7. Lastly, when asked "does AQ have a nuclear weapon?" The Ambassador's reply was, "Who can say that they don't". Just in case the Russian arsenal problem didn't make you lose sleep.

I was surprised at the candidness of the talk......
